Banff Centre - Shaw Amphitheatre

Following the opening of the Kinnear Centre, the fourth and final phase of the Banff Centre’s Campus Redevelopment Project was the construction of the Shaw Amphitheatre and surrounding landscape. The first phase of this project was the abatement and demolition of nearly 100,000 square feet of existing facilities built over a period of 60 years. Once the site was exposed, the amphitheatre was developed to provide the Centre with an inspiring and technologically advanced venue for up to 2,000 guests. Included in this project are major landscape, services and transportation components as well as the final phase of a new campus storm water management solution build to the rigorous requirements of Parks Canada, The Town of Banff and Environment Canada. This final project was built over a period of 18 months at a cost of $5 million. The project’s design was lead by DuToit Allsop Hillier landscape architects of Toronto with Associated Engineering of Calgary supporting the civil works
